Professor Barry Wellman will kick off a roundtable discussion of emerging research around the implications of network research on the study of work and the workplace. It will reflect and build on some of the themes of a recent forum in the International Journal of Communication, entitled ‘Venture Labor, Media Work, and the Communicative Construction of Economic Value: Agendas for the Field and Critical Commentary’, IJoC 11(2017), Forum 1-5.

Barry Wellman has directed NetLab at the Faculty of Information, University of Toronto. He is the North American editor of the journal, Information Communication and Society (iCS), the founder of the International Network for Social Network Analysis, and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada.
