Complementing our study of search and social media in the acquisition of political information is a study of the role of live participated on social media during televised political debates. Is it mere entertainment, partisanal spinning of the debate, or does it play a useful role in the debates? The Quello Center supported the acquisition of all tweets from 15 minutes before the first televised 2016 debate between Hillary Rodham Clinton and Donald Trump to study the actual role of live tweets.
