Angie Nam (she/her) is a doctoral student in the Department of Media and Information, College of Communication at Michigan State University.
Angie’s research is at the intersection of information and communication technology (ICT) and policy. Angie’s research primarily aims to ensure that people can fairly utilize information and communication technology for their convenience, even for marginalized people and minorities. In this context, she is interested in the ramifications and impacts of emerging technologies and media, including digital inequalities, on individuals and society.
Prior to her current degree, Angie completed her Master of Arts (2023) in Media and Information at Michigan State University and her Bachelor of Arts (2019) in Communication and Media at Sookmyung Women’s University in South Korea. Her thesis focused on relationships between digital divides and the ability of individuals to obtain information about COVID-19, specifically among South Korean farmers and fishers.
