Edna Miola is an Associate Professor at the Federal University of Technology – Paraná, Brazil. She works for the Department of Language and Communication and the Graduate Program in Planning and Public Governance. Dr. Miola coordinates the Research Group on Discourse, Communication, and Democracy and is an associate researcher of the National Institute of Science & Technology for Digital Democracy in Brazil. Her research interests include political communication, government communication, public governance, digital transformation, and digital democracy. Edna Miola is joining the Quello Center as a visiting scholar for the year 2021-2022. Her research project “Digital Democracy and Government Communication on social media: A comparison between Brazil and the United States” focuses on how government institutions in Brazil and the US use social networking sites for public communication and political instrumentalization purposes.
