Next Practices Live with Dr. Scott Wallsten and Dr. Johannes Bauer

A lot of countries are interested in having telecom operators share infrastructure. Some are concerned that capital costs are a barrier to competition. Others believe that sharing might result in lower prices. What are the real effects of sharing? Why is it that some operators willingly share infrastructure, but others do not?

Please join Next Practices Live as Mark Jamison talks with Dr. Scott Wallsten and Dr. Johannes Bauer about this very issue. Scott is President and Senior Fellow at the Technology Policy Institute in Washington, D.C. He was the economics director for the FCC’s National Broadband Plan, served as an economist for The World Bank, and as a resident scholar at the American Enterprise Institute.

Johannes is a Professor and Director of the James H. and Mary B. Quello Center for Media and Information Policy at Michigan State University. He is a frequent contributor to PURC training programs and internationally known as a leading scholar in telecommunications policy and regulation.

Mark will interview Scott and Johannes beginning at 10:00 am US Eastern Time on Thursday, June 25. Asking them questions for 20 minutes and then we will take written questions from all of you for 20 minutes. The last 20 minutes will be for you to share your experiences and get input from your colleagues around the world.
