Megan Knittel (she/her) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Media & Information at Michigan State University. She teaches courses on social science research methods with an emphasis on information technology and media. Dr. Knittel uses mixed methods approaches to understand the social and psychological factors contributing to outcomes of digital equity and online safety policy.
Dr. Knittel earned her bachelor’s degrees in cognitive psychology and anthropology from the University of Michigan, followed by her Ph.D. in Information & Media from Michigan State University. Dr. Knittel previously worked as a research consultant with the Trust & Safety Foundation and is currently a digital equity and education consultant with the Merit Network.
