Her research interests are focused on how using smart devices in the home and other environments affect people’s close relationships. She researches how the use of these technologies to record and share personal information influence intimate relationships, family dynamics, and individual’s connections to their broader communities. She also investigates how these technologies raise issues with consent, privacy, and current models of device usership. Megan is also interested in understanding how people seek out support for challenging experiences with emerging technologies using informal support networks, such as in online communities.
