This collection documents James H. Quello’s rich legacy as an FCC Commissioner and Acting Chairman (1974-1999) and contains speeches, statements, correspondence, news articles, reports, photographs, and films. Predominantly, the collection focuses on his prolific career as a FCC Commissioner. The video recordings are the only records in the collection of events and lectures at the James H. and Mary B. Quello Center. The manuscript collection reflects his decision-making and regulatory philosophies throughout his career as an FCC Commissioner. Of particular interest are Quello’s correspondence, statements, and speeches related to children’s programming and personal communications services (PCS).
